Dedicated to all things Warhammer
Our mission at Hive City is to provide essential updates, insights, and analyses on Warhammer 40k, enriching the community's understanding of its lore, games, and literature.
Our Journey So Far
Hive City launched in 2026 with a simple conviction: the Warhammer 40,000 hobby deserves a content hub that serves the whole community — not just the tournament grinders, not just the lore scholars, not just the painters — everyone.
We noticed a gap. The biggest 40K sites are brilliant at what they do, but they tend to specialize. One dominates competitive analysis. Another breaks news at breakneck speed. Another documents a personal hobby journey. None of them quite captured the full experience of being a 40K hobbyist — the excitement of a new release, the satisfaction of a finished paint job, the thrill of a close game, and the awe of discovering a new corner of the lore — all in one place, written for real people at every skill level.
That's the Underhive. That's us.

Our Name
In the 40K universe, hive cities are titanic urban megastructures — teeming with billions of souls across hundreds of levels, from the gilded spires of the upper hive to the lawless depths of the underhive. It's a perfect metaphor for this hobby: layered, complex, a little chaotic, and endlessly rewarding the deeper you go. We named this site for that experience.
The Team

Inquisitor Toll
Editor
Toll runs the editorial operation, shapes the content calendar, and writes the bulk of our news and gaming coverage. He's been in the hobby since 4th Edition and has strong opinions about Imperial Agents "army" building.

Greyfax
Reviewer
Greyfax covers new releases, product reviews, and hobby content. She approaches every new kit with a builder's eye and a painter's sensibility, and she's not afraid to tell you when a box set isn't worth the price tag.

Probator Case
Editor
Case built the Underhive you're standing in. He handles site design, layout, and visual assets, ensuring Hive City looks as good as the models we cover.
